Vocational Training - Youths Training Systems (YTS)

Assistance to enable the school dropouts and, unskilled youth to upgrade their skills and to transform
them into a semi skilled/skilled labour by providing a short term On the job training program. This would help them to find jobs in the national /international job market.

More than 100,000 youth enter the job market every year, and most of them end up with odd jobs or going abroad for unskilled jobs.

Our special attention towards this target group is due to the following perspectives

Out of the basic human needs, shelter plays a vital role in improving the quality of life, it gives the family the confidence and courage to move forward, it gives the family a status in the society, a roof to pray, live as a family unit and enjoy family life.

Beneficiaries are selected by a pre-determined selection process only on ‘merit’ basis.

This project intends to provide children in different parts of Sri Lanka with a monthly allowance for their day-to-day needs to some extent to meet their educational needs.

It helps the children to stop living as beggars, servants or silent victims of abuse. It is essential to set up a network to give them a place in the society and educate them, in order to make them self supporting and responsible citizens.

Currently we are organizing a special educational awareness program in the remote areas like Anurdhapura, Polannaruwa. In the first phase we have planned to conduct workshop & seminars for selected schools principals & deputy principals. Following that, a village based awareness programs are scheduled to educate the students & the parents.
